W-Beam Guardrail End Terminals energy-absorbing system

The Flared Energy‐Absorbing Terminal is an energy absorbing W-beam barrier end treatment. The Dachu's version is tested to NCHRP 350 TL‐2, TL‐3 criteria and designed to AASHTO highway specifications.

Both the vehicle and the end of the guardrail are deformable bodies, and the vehicle will collide forward to form a trajectory after impact. Once an accident occurs where the vehicle hits the W beam guardrail, the vehicle body itself will be damaged and destroyed, and the W-Beam Guardrail and Terminal end and Some other uncontrollable variables such as body friction on the ground can absorb part of the impact energy. Among them, if the W beam guardrail absorbs the impact energy of the vehicle better, the harm to the vehicle (including the occupants) will be less.

W-Beam Guardrail End Terminals Distinguish Characteristics

1. Square Impact Face. Has a feeder chute (channel section that surrounds the rail) that gets wider at the  downstream end.
2. Breakaway steel end posts #1 and #2 and standard steel guardrail posts #3 and  beyond.
3. Rail has 3 (1/2”x4” long) slots in the valley of the rail.
4. There may also be an additional 5 slots (1/2”x4” long) on both the top and bottom  corrugations of the w-beam section, which makes it interchangeable with the FLEAT  section.
5. Cable anchor bracket is fully seated on the shoulder portion of the cable anchor  bolts.
6. All hinge steel post, plug weld steel posts, or wood posts available
