1,1,2-Trichloroethane is non-flammable, colorless liquid which has chloroform odor. It is readily to yield hydrochloric acid gas at high temperature. It is narcotic, and can cause liver dysfunction. Its acceptable concentration is 200×10-6 in the air. The relative density is 1.441-1.443g/cm³ (20℃), the refractive index is 1.4711. Its melting point is -39.7℃. The boiling point of pure product is 113.5℃. The 1,1,2-Trichloroethane is insoluble in water but soluble in alcohol, ether and other organic solvents.
