The 12 th Packaging & Printing Industry Exhibition

Printing enterprises have increased both in quantity and quality. According to the latest statistics of the Vietnam Printing Association (VPA), there are currently over 1000 printing enterprises locating mainly in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. Annually, the printing industry achieves the output of more than 400 billion pages with an average increase of over 10% per year, in which, Ho Chi Minh City holds up to about 45%. In 2001, the export turnover of book publishing reached 1,416,023 USD, and import turnover was 3.5 million USD and in 2004 the export turnover reached 2.1 million USD, and the import turnover was 6.1 million USD.

Packaging industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in Vietnam at present. Up to now according to the preliminary statistics, there are 1.200 packaging enterprises in general, in which about 60 enterprises joining the plastic packaging market. Although the packaging industry in Vietnam is premature, it is an active and creative industry. Many enterprises begin to invest in studying and producing environmentally beneficial self-decomposing packaging. With the turnover of approximately 60 million USD per month in 2006 and a growth rate of 25 – 30% per year, the packaging industry contributes about more than 1% to Vietnams GDP.

The 11th Vietnam Manufacturing Industry Exhibition were hosted in Ho Chi Ming City, Vietnam from 9/21~9/24, attended by 220 companies from China, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, U.A.E, U.S.A , Turkey, Iran, Australia, Germany and Vietnam. 

The exhibition was organized by Ministry of Industry & Trade -Vietnam National Trade Fair & Advertising Joint-stock Company, and Yorkers Trade & Marketing Service co., Ltd. And the show benefits under the cooperation of, Chan Chao International Co., Ltd., Paper Communication Exhibition Service, Vietnam Plastics Association (VPA), Vietnam Rubber Association (VRA) and Vietnam Printing Association (Vinaprint). 

With more than 11,500 professional buyers and visitors registered in the exhibition, and 220 international exhibitors from 17 countries taking up 500 booths occupying the 5,000 sqm exhibition ground. The scale of the event is 25% bigger than previous event. The exhibition provided a great business platform for companies looking for reaching new clients as well as professional buyers.

During the 4 day events, both exhibitors and visitors were satisfied with the fruitful outcome of the exhibition. Most exhibitors claimed that they were able to reach their target customers and learn about the latest technologies in the industry; visitors were pleased with the overall presentation and content of the exhibition; most were able to gain the information and knowledge they sought.

After a successful edition, Vietnam Industry Fair have draw more attention than before not only in Vietnam but also in the country which is around Vietnam like Thailand, Cambodia, India, etc. Due to the overwhelming response, majority of the exhibitors showed interest in participating in the next year.
